Cookabout Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Cookabout mobile application (the "App"), developed and operated by Echohey (Changsha Dolphin Chuangxiang Technology Co., Ltd., "we," "us"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. The Service

Cookabout helps you discover, cook, and keep track of home dishes from around the world: recipes with measured steps, a pantry and shopping list, a cooking log, menu scanning, and optional AI-assisted features. Recipe content is provided for reference and inspiration. Features may be added, changed, or removed as the App evolves.

2. Accounts

Most of the App works without an account. Signing in (by phone number verification code, or a third-party identity such as Google or Apple) is required only for cloud backup and certain paid features. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in method secure. You may delete your account at any time in Me → Account → Delete Account; deletion is permanent.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to: (a) use the App for unlawful purposes; (b) interfere with or disrupt the service or its servers; (c) attempt to access other users' data; (d) reverse engineer, scrape, or bulk-extract our content or services; (e) upload content that is illegal or infringes others' rights.

4. Your Content

Photos you take of finished dishes are stored on your device. Menu photos you submit for scanning are used only to generate that response and are not retained. If you submit feedback or suggestions, we may use them to improve the App without obligation to you.

5. Cooking and Food Safety Disclaimer

Recipes, nutrition figures, ingredient substitutions, and AI-generated suggestions are provided for general reference only. You are responsible for safe food handling, checking ingredient freshness, verifying doneness, and accounting for your own allergies and dietary restrictions. Allergen labels in the App are informational aids and may be incomplete — always verify actual ingredients yourself. The App is not medical or nutritional advice.

6. Paid Features

Some features may require a paid subscription ("Pro"). Prices and terms are shown in the App before purchase. Payments are processed by the platform's app store; refunds follow the store's policies unless the law requires otherwise.

7. Intellectual Property

The App and its content (recipes, text, images, design, and software) are owned by us or our licensors and protected by law. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes.

8. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

9. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time. We may suspend or terminate access that violates these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including 4, 5, 7, and 8) will survive.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the App. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing Law and Contact

These Terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China. Disputes shall be submitted to the competent court at the operator's place of registration (Changsha, Hunan).
